The aroma of the wood-fired rotisserie welcomes Members to Schaffer's Camp for a high mountain lunch in a private haven of understated luxury and comfort. Trading in ski boots for cozy woolen slippers, Members are invited to relax and take in the sweeping Sierra Nevada views.
More than just an excuse to kick off your heavy ski boots, our complimentary woolen slippers create a cozy environment that makes it hard to head back outdoors. Offered in various sizes from kids to adults, Members are invited to check their boots at the door as they relax at 7900-feet.
Schaffer's Camp offers superior service and culinary offerings amid breathtaking views. Favorite items are fresh and inventive soups, slow-roasted entrees, wood fired pizzas, unique salads and delicious sandwiches.
Refuel from a morning on the slopes with one of our rotisseries specials. Roasted for 24 hours over mesquite and cherry wood, this delicacy is spiced up with new marinades, meats and stuffings each week.
When it comes to pizza, we don't mess around. It all starts with a secret dough recipe and locally sourced ingredients. We finish it up in our wood stone oven that gives it that distinct, old world, true Italian taste!
We've elevated this ski lodge standard to a new level of comfort food. Using locally sourced beef, our chili is slow cooked, allowing the flavors to stew together and soak into each ingredient.
Take a break from the slopes to soak in the fresh mountain air and warm Tahoe sunshine on the private Schaffer's Camp deck. Unwind with a cold beer and enjoy the sweeping views of the snow-capped mountains.
Featuring fine wines, craft brews and creative cocktails, sip on your beverage of choice as you embrace the Sierra Nevada views that dominate every window.
There are other ways that Members can get to Schaffer's Camp than by skis. Foot passengers can access the lodge easily by riding the Big Springs Express Gondola to mid-mountain and then hopping on the Tahoe Zephyr Express Chairlift. Schaffer's Camp is located only a few yards away from the top of the lift. Grab a good book or your laptop and spend the day in front of the fire atop of a mountain. Don't forget a warm jacket and hat for the ride up!
